The mesh portion of this scarf was an unfinished project that someone abandoned and donated. It was unraveling as I picked it up, so I had no choice but to rush it home and perform cpr (crochet project restoration). And would you believe your eyes?
I color matched the red as closely as I could from my stash, added a few more rows of the mesh, following as closely as I could to the original stitch pattern. Finally, I fastened it off properly and chose a mohair in a similar red from my stash and added the border and poppy flowers. I crocheted each poppy individually and then hand stitched them on.
A little love & attention goes a long way sometimes.
