My Eyes Are Up Here - Crochet Wrap Top

This top is crocheted using a variegated, green and white cotton yarn. It is lightweight, soft and perfect for summer. There are ties on both sides that are extra long because this top can be worn several different ways (see video for examples) and fit many different body types.  Embellishments on this top include the wooden ring in the center that has a soft, smooth finish, and metal nipple tassels/charms. While the wooden ring is integral to the construction of the top and cannot be removed, the nipple pieces are both removable and adjustable. Because this top is made from cotton, it can be easily washed (on gentle with like colors) and dried without sustaining any damage. To do so, you just have to unscrew the metal Hardware from the inside of the triangle pieces, wash the top, then screw them back in. You can also adjust the placement of them by unscrewing them and moving them to wherever you would like your nipple tassel to hang. And if you’re feeling a little more casual, you can unclip the dangling pieces from the nipples and leave just the ring and screwed-on hardware. For that matter, you could remove the hardware as well and wear this top completely plain, but I don’t know who would not want to have nipples on their top.

About the Process:

I made this top with the intention of wearing it to a music festival, but never actually did. The crochet pattern is called “the Arachne Top” and is available for purchase on Etsy by Ernili. I added all of the nipple hardware and charms (which I beaded myself), to make this top extra fun and unique. I just don’t see enough shirts with nipples on them in my day-to-day life and I’m trying to fix that.
